Our partnership with Whole Foods Market’s Bowery store continues, where each month a new Flea/Smorg food vendor is invited to showcase their culinary swag in a unique pop-up restaurant/residency. Each vendor takes over one of the second-floor counters at the Lower East Side store, establishing a sort of “step up” space between a market booth and a brick-and-mortar restaurant, so that you can enjoy the best parts of a good meal whether you’re on-the-go or looking for a tasty, warm spot to savor something affordable and made with love—while killing an hour before a movie.
Starting today, through mid-April, Yuji Ramen brings his talk of the town mazemen (brothless) ramen to the Lower East Side along with some other new items to savor, including a seafood driven “ramen omakase”, which is a tasting menu by reservation.
Vendors are open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Stay updated with our Tweets to learn about the special menu items that will inevitably materialize. We’d love it if our fans showed these ambitious folks some support, so head upstairs next time you’re in the neighborhood, and by all means let us know what you think. Plus, look out for our expansion to a second “Snack Bar” counter upstairs for Flea/Smorg packaged and beverage vendors to open in March!
You can see our big fancy sign on Houston Street. Stop by and say hi!
