• Smorg v. Smorg

This weekend marks the end of another fabulous outdoor season, and though the last few weeks have been a rollercoaster (the word Cyclone comes to mind), the resilience of Brooklynites is near legendary at this point. From Smorg vendors donating their tips to the Brooklyn Recovery Fund and bringing meals to hard-hit neighborhoods, to the triumphant return of Red Hook-based businesses Mile End and Red Hook Lobster Pound last week—Sandy has taught us that our power is in numbers. We’re a community that cares. And what better way to show our brotherly love for one another than with a little friendly family feud?

On Saturday, Brooklyn Kitchen will co-host the fall finale version of the “Smorg v. Smorg” competition at our collaborative “Kitchen Island” booth. Your favorite vendors will face off against one another as they vie before a panel of judges for the title of “Best Fall Dish.” There will also be a People’s Choice Award, so come over to the booth to cast your vote.

And that’s not all. Smorg’s Closing Ceremonies also include a Big Time Sandy Relief Raffle. For just $5 a ticket, you can put yourself in the running for some pretty serious prizes, including a Cuisinart, cutting board, and cookbook package, a Le Creuset Dutch Oven, and some awesome gift certificates for a night out on the town! If you can’t make it to Smorg this weekend, you can still enter by clicking the link. Otherwise, feel free to enter while you take in the events. All proceeds go to the Recovery Fund, so you’re a winner either way!

    We all are.
