This Friday, Sept. 16, we team up with the DUMBO Improvement District for a day of Flea food and good beer (Stoudts Oktoberfest and Sixpoint Crisp lager) in the historic and majestic Archway under the Manhattan Bridge. We’re going to activate this unique public space and help knit together the neighborhood by getting residents and workers out for a fun Friday hang. (We held the 2009 Superstar DJ Record Fair and Vintage Fashion Bazaar there.) Nosh on Mile End’s smoked Peking Duck and gai lan (Chinese broccoli), which they’re debuting at “Under the Archway,” Landhaus’ succulent BLTs and lamb burgers, Brooklyn Oyster Party’s local shuckers, and Rachel’s Pies, including her Pennsylvania Dutch “Shoofly” molasses pie. Senor Flea will assemble an atmospheric Archway playlist, and Brownstoner will make an appearance in his lederhosen. (Kidding!?)
The event runs from noon to 9pm, with beer beginning to flow at 3pm; the Archway is located at Adams and Water St. Totally free (not the food or beer of course). If you work in DUMBO, swing by for lunch or a happy-hour brew. Live nearby? Grab dinner with the family and mingle with your neighbors. See ya there.
